It was a discount bookstore That sold paperbacks of classics But made more money on porn As if the great works of literature Couldn’t compete with the fictions Of pretty girls spreading their legs And the men who bought them Never looked you in the eye When they paid and left quickly Maybe eager to get home To tear off the shrink-wrap Of their counterfeits of love |
